A REMARKABLE RHYTHMIC ANALYSIS: ALAN HOVHANESS CONCERTO FOR TWO PIANOS AND ORCHESTRA
Jeffrey Klefstad has developed an analysis of remarkable rhythmic patterns found in the second movement of Alan Hovhaness' Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra (1954.) His work points to a possibly previously unimagined complexity of intellect, organisation, and structuring by Hovhaness.
Mr. Klefstad is a participant in composer John Hilliard's advanced composition forum at James Madison University. John Hilliard, himself, had attended Hovhaness' master classes.
